In oktober each year, the younghorses comes home from the moutains, and for the 3 years old and elder the training starts right a way. Most of them have barly been touched by humans before, so the first days we prepare them for the work by touching them gently and show them that we desirve their trust. The braking in period is 1-2 month for each horse, by that time we are almost always able to ride them outside and they are comfortible with the rider and knows how to start, stop and turn.

The horses that is trained for breedingshows or competitions often comes to us in january and are in training to july. In this sort of training it is not only gaites that are trained, it is also trained to stand right before judges and trained on the tracks to be as good prepared for the shows as possible. 

To train a horse can mean so much and maybe the owner has a clear goal with the training. Sometimes it is to teach the horse how to tolt, sometimes to be calm and sometimes to be as good as the horse can be and prepair it for breedingshow or competition.
